Flower paste & sugar paste are 2 different things.
Sugar paste is the ready made icing which you can buy in supermarkets & cake craft shops, used for covering cakes and decorations which don’t need to be too sturdy.
Flower paste is a paste which can be bought ready made or in a powder form (you add water) and is used for creating flowers and petals generally. It dries a lot harder than sugar paste and you can create things with a lot more detail. The powder is cheaper and you get more out of it, it also lasts a lot longer as it cannot dry out.
You won’t find this in a supermarket, it is sold in cake craft shops and also stores like Hobbycraft.
